For Sale Austin 16 BS1. Manufactured in 1948 First Registered in 1993 (don’t know why, possibly ex WD) Drives very nicely, doesn’t smoke, doesn’t use water, everything works with the exception of the fuel gauge. I have chauffeured the bride in three family weddings in the last 12 months (the last was a round trip of 60 miles). Fitted with indicator flashers, but the original semaphores still work. Has been fitted with an electric petrol pump and temperature gauge. The jacking system works, though there is a very slight oil leak from the reservoir. The tyres are good all round, but the spare tyre is not a white wall. The paint work is generally good but there are a few patches that could do with work,(see photos as they are part of the description) the boot lid and lower part of the left hand rear mud guard looks a slightly different colour in some lights. It has recently had a new head lining. The rear seat is cord and the base is stained and has been attacked by moths. The chassis is solid. There are some spare parts and the original service manual also included in the sale. To save any embarrassment I would advise potential buyers to come and view the car and have a ride in it. Please contact me for any information you require. The car is located in Buxton Derbyshire The car is 68years old so I’m sure you will appreciate there is no warranty or guarantee. Thank you for looking.
