1972' BMW 2002

BMW 2002 (1972) Manual – Fantastic condition

This an opportunity to get your hands on a fantastic classic in great condition. The car is in fantastic running order and the bodywork is almost completely rust free.

The car has MOT, manual gearbox and has the rare round rear tail lights (I beleive only made up until 1973). Mileage 117,800 and is its original colour Agave Green.

I bought the car in August 2013. The previous owner had had it form 1984 and kept it in a garage and rarely used it. Mileage on MOT’s would suggest this to be true and it was well looked after serviced previously by Jaymic.

When I purchased it the general condition of the car was very good and the body and paintwork in great condition.   I’ve since kept it in a garage so it is still in great condition.   There were quite a few mechanical issues when I bought it due to being not used and in the first two years of owning it I spent £6,500 restoring everything to excellent working order including:

- Replacing the engine and gear box with the correct 2.0 BMW engine and gear box (refurbished engine mileage 66k)
- Refurbished the master cylinder and renovated the brakes
- Replaced the exhaust 
- New radiator and hoses
- New alternator, battery and electronic ignition kit 
- Two new front shock absorbers 
- A number of other items including water pump, all rubber hoses, oil and fuel filter so that it is running perfectly again
- 4 new tires
- Had the original radio repaired to good working order

The car now runs perfectly, I drive it regularly including occasional long drives to Cornwall and back. Since the work I have done it has passed both MOT’s with no work required and I would expect it to do the same moving forward.

I have full service history and receipts for all the work that I have done which has been carried out by a mechanic who specialises in BMW 2002’s. In addition, I have a huge amount of service history and paper work from the previous owners.

I am sadly selling the car as I am moving abroad and hope that the new owner will enjoy and look after the car as much as I have.
