Unrestored and in fabulous condition throughout. Probably one of the most wonderfully original Mk1 cars in existence, and admired wherever she goes.
Essentially a father and son ownership from new car, although apart from me, there is only one other owner shown on the V5 Registration Document.
Recently the subject of a full brake overhaul including full replacement of all master and wheel cylinders.
Four brand new Uniroyal radial tyres just fitted, though I have retained the crossplies if you’d like them.
So, bodywork, paintwork and chrome work is all just stunning. The interior is amazing and original too - original headlining, original leather, and all trim and fittings, and even original rubber flooring throughout including the boot mat. Quite astonishing and retains that wonderful authentic smell.
In 1974 a high quality carpet set was added, and hence the rubber flooring remains so well preserved and protected all these years. The car has been very sparingly used since 1974 ( constantly garaged of course), so this carpet set remains as new.
Lots of old MoT’s, old service receipts, fuel ration book etc., and of course yes, the registration number is original. On the dashboard is the original, well preserved supplying dealer sticker - car was sold new in Suffolk.
Great heater! And all the doors shut with that nice sweet snick you never seem to get with restored cars. Likewise with the wonderful 1950’s authentic smell one loses with an unrestored car.
