This 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback is more than just a great classic pony car. It was born a desirable A-code coupe, and today its even more impressive with upgrades like stunning paint, an A/C interior, five-speed stick, four-wheel disc brakes, and a stronger V8 heart. It doesnt get much more desirable than a first-year Mustang with the sleek fastback body. Thats why a car like this gets treated with care, and it even underwent a comprehensive restoration. So while the trim tag tells us this was born a Rangoon Red coupe, today theres a deeper luster than the factory ever gave it thanks to a modern professional respray. And glossy paint like this is always a great way to show off well-done body panels. Amazing chrome, pliable weather-stripping, and clean/clear glass are all part of a top-quality total package. But theres also else thats catching your eye. It has a terrific GT style with the fog lights in the grille, Mag-style wheels complete GT badging, triple rocker stripe, and the exhaust coming through the rear valance. It makes for a sporty impression that this car earns with it other performance upgrades. The black interior received plenty of attention during the restoration, and so it contributed to the cars quality feel. The door panels, headliner, and carpeting all leave a fresh impression. And not only do the seats feel supple, but they also have the desirable Pony deluxe package. There are good details everywhere from the working courtesy lights to the crisp trunk mat. This one was even built for upgraded comfort. Thats why you have an AM/FM stereo w/cassette, upgraded speakers, and cold-blowing air conditioning. As a true drivers coupe, this has classic Mustang pieces like the center console, wood-rimmed steering wheel, and sought-after Rally Pac with tach and clock. And have you counted the gears on the shifter yet? The engine bay has been upgraded with respect for the pony cars history. For example, the Cobra valve covers and Monte Carlo bracer bar are cool-looking additions that you would have seen on the original GT350. And while the callout on the air grabber says 289, this has been upgraded to the larger 302 cubic-inch V8 that was available later in the Mustangs life. Plus, theres also a Holley four-barrel carburetor, one-inch spacer, Edelbrock performance intake, and shorty headers feeding an upgraded dual exhaust w/Flowmasters. There are even good supporting components like an upgrade ignition and an aluminum radiator. This is a strong-running package, and you get to take full advantage of it thanks to the upgrade to a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Its part of an all-around great driving package that includes power steering, power brakes, and upgraded four-wheel discs. Fastbacks are always in-demand, so you know how special it is to find one that looks this good and already has all the best features for modern enjoyment. This restored pony car is ready to hit the road. Call today!!!
