Verkäuferkommentare zu 1967' Mercedes-Benz 300 Se

Perhaps recognising that its target market appreciated tradition and continuity as much as it valued modern design, Mercedes-Benz chose not to change the styling of its range-topping Coupé and Cabriolet when the S-Class saloons were updated with the so-called 'New Generation' bodyshell in 1965. Instead, the pair retained the timelessly elegant coachwork that had debuted back in 1959 on the 220SE and, as befitted top-of-the-range luxury models, came equipped with air conditioning, electric windows and stereo radio as standard. A fuel-injected version of Mercedes Benz's new, overhead-camshaft, seven-bearing 'six' was deployed in the 300SE, displacing 2,996cc and developing 170bhp (DIN) at 5t400rpm. There was a choice of four-speed manual or automatic transmissions while the rear suspension featured Mercedes Benz's hydro-pneumatic self-levelling system, Thus equipped, the 300SE was good for 200km/h, with 100km/h reachable in 12 seconds. When the 280SE 3.5 ceased production in 1971, its passing marked the end of this long-established body style. Today all examples of these classic Coupés and Cabriolets are highly sought after. This particular Mercedes-Benz 300SE Coupé has been in a private collection for some time before being acquired by the Museum, and is in generally excellent condition. Finished in Burgundy with black leather interior, the car has the optional automatic transmission. *Test Drive and Viewing by Appointment Only
