1958 MGA Twin Cam Roadster Chassis number: YD2/739 Engine number: 16G/U/351 Reg: 453 UYX The car is a very unusual Right Hand Drive export model, that was delivered new to Switzerland in 1958. In 1970 it was bought by a dental surgeon near Lille, northern France, who kept it for 47 years and maintained it to a high standard, as evidenced by the extensive paperwork that comes with the car. In 1995, it underwent a complete engine rebuild, for which I have the receipts. It has done very few miles since then. When I bought the car, it was unknown to the MGA Twin Cam Register, with whom I have since been in correspondence. I imported it to England and registered it with the DVLA last summer. Apart from fitting two new 6 volt batteries, I found I needed to do nothing to the car. The bodywork is in excellent condition. The black leather interior is delightfully original but showing some wear. The dashboard has all its correct period instruments, which all work as they should. The hood and side-screens are likewise original and are in good usable condition. There is a useful tonneau cover, with middle zip partition, and a luggage rack. The car comes with an extensive file of paperwork including the original manual. The odometer is the only feature that differentiates the car from a standard home market MG, as it reads in kilometres. At present, it reads 85,000kms, which is about 50,000 miles, which I believe to be the correct total mileage, judging by how unworn and original the car feels. A great car.
