1948' MG TC
1948 MG TC Midget
Continuing the theme established with the pre-war TA and TB models, the TC was introduced in 1945 as car production slowly began following the cessation of World War 2. Among the improvements in the new model was a welcome 4” increase in the width of the body.
Many MG TC were exported to the United States, gaining a very strong following there. Subsequently a substantial proportion of production of all MG sports cars were to head across the Atlantic as the cars proved their worth on both road and track.
The 1948 TC offered here was originally registered in the West Riding of Yorkshire. Some years later it went to the United States, residing in Texas until it was repatriated in 2000 whereupon it was acquired by the current owner. A copy of the Texas Certificate of Title is on file.
Thought to have been restored in the 1970’s/80’s, it has undergone considerable work and regular maintenance over the past 20 years and is in good, sound order and in very useable condition with a pleasing mellowed appearance.
The cockpit has been re-trimmed in green hide and there are aero screens and the essential luggage rack. The wire wheels have been rebuilt with new spokes and fitted with Blockley Tyres.
The car is recorded on the MGCC ‘T’ Register and is well known in MG circles, having participated in many Club events and rallies.
An ideal car for someone seeking an MG TC to use regularly, rather than just to polish, it is ‘on the button’ and ready to go.
There is a current MOT Certificate valid until 5th July 2021, plus an original Instruction Manual and a vast array of bills, details of work carried out and photographs.
For initial enquiries and to arrange an appointment for a ‘live video viewing’, please call us on the details below or the details below.
A live viewing, via Whatsapp, offers you our undivided attention, allowing you to ask questions and zoom into the areas you are keen to inspect close up. It’s great that technology can easily allow you to still ‘virtually view’ in real-time.
We are also scheduling ‘personal viewing appointments’ in our diary for post-lockdown dates, hopefully from 2nd December or as soon as we are able to under the latest Government guidance.
