A charming Morris Mini-Cooper S Mark 1 (1275 cc)This genuine Mark 1 Morris Mini-Cooper S was built in February 1965 for the UK home market and was initially registered in the Berkshire area under the UK registration mark ERX 190C. This matching-numbers car — chassis, engine, body and colours — is confirmed by its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate.Chassis Number: K-A2S4 / 675683Engine Number: 9F-SA-Y / 35659Body Number: 36440Finished in its original exterior colours of Almond Green and Old English White, the car is nicely complemented by its original interior colours of Porcelain Green and Dove Grey.This charming example was sympathetically but comprehensively restored between 2019 and 2020 by the renowned Mini specialists at Oldtimer Hof in Apen, northern Germany, and was subsequently converted to left-hand drive at the request of its new German owners. Given the relatively simple and straightforward construction of these early Minis, the LHD conversion is a comparatively uncomplicated process when carried out correctly.The car is offered with an Insurance Valuation Report (Kurzbewertung) dated March 2022, which recorded the car as Condition 2 Plus (2+), with an insurance replacement value of just shy of €50, 000. In reality, market values have fallen significantly since then, and the car is now being offered at a price that reflects its current condition and overall position in today's market.Viewing is always recommended, although we believe we have portrayed the car accurately and have indicated the areas that are now beginning to show some minor age-related issues. The restoration is now approximately seven years old, and the gutter-roof edging area, particularly above the driver's side, is showing some paint pitting. This would require only minimal work to bring it back to an excellent standard, although equally, it could simply be left as it is. The driver's door also sits slightly proud of the body and would benefit from adjustment.The car's interior is possibly its standout feature and has been comprehensively restored, including new carpeting and seat covers. Overall, the car is authentically presented without being over-prepared, particularly under the bonnet, where it now shows some natural signs of age and use.Used sparingly but regularly over the last several years by its German Mini-collector owners, the car underwent a recent inspection and brake check by British classic-car specialist J. D. Motors in Oldenburg, Germany, in March 2026. The all-important electric fuel pump was replaced by the same company in December 2024.All of the car's TÜV roadworthiness inspection records are present since its German Historic registration in 2021, with the current test certificate valid until August 2027.In terms of history, there is a UK MOT Certificate in the car's file from 1986 showing a recorded mileage of 5, 521 miles. * This would suggest that the currently displayed mileage of 13, 998 miles is more likely to be 113, 998 miles indicating a figure in excess of 100, 000 miles.The famous power-to-weight ratio of the Mini-Cooper S is well documented, and this car offers remarkable pace from its original 1, 275 cc, 76 bhp (57 kW) engine.
