Packard’s 1929 models were known as the Sixth Series and saw straight eights become standard across all model lines. The so-called “standard eights,” such as that offered here, rode a 126.5-inch wheelbase chassis, with power from an all-new 90-horsepower, 319.2-cubic inch inline eight-cylinder engine. Five disc wheels were standard equipment, but the dressy dual side-mounted spares, were an additional $130. They were part of the Deluxe Equipment package, which also included the chrome plating on the cowl band and cowl lamps, as well as an accessory trunk rack. The convertible coupe offered here, an unusual and seldom-seen but highly attractive body style, is equipped with the Deluxe Equipment package, as well as a chrome mesh grille guard and driving lights. Packard dominated the Classic Era, and its advertising reflected this success. Elegant ads featured the gates of mansions through which “Packards have passed” for 20 years or more. Packard’s famous advice to “Ask the man who owns one” remains another classic example of good advertising that set the standard for prestige.

The 1929 Packard Eight 626 Rumble Seat Convertible Coupe featured here is finished in gorgeous Sage over Highland Green with a beautiful green interior. It has been beautifully restored and comes fitted with many desirable options such as dual side mount spares with covers, chrome cowl lamps, luggage rack, wire wheels and much more. Coming from previous Packard collector ownership, this stunning 1929 Packard Eight 626 is recognized by the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) as a Full Classic and is eligible to participate in all events and caravans. This Packard truly is a collector’s dream and we are proud to offer it to the most sophisticated investor or enthusiast who appreciates the rarity and the beauty of this great American classic.
