Verkäuferkommentare zu 1972' Porsche 914

Road legal track and successful hill climb car, 110hp big bore motor, LSD, lightweight panels.

This is a consignment sale on behalf of a customer.

About of this car

Our 914 was sourced by our client in 2012 as a solid and dry Texan import. This unique Porsche has been converted into a road legal race car, the objective being to have a competitive car that can be driven to an event, compete and drive home again.

Over £25,000 has been invested with marque specialist SVP Motorsport to build a car that is much lighter with better handling and significantly more powerful than an original 914…the difference is night and day and our car performs with the vigour of a 6 cylinder model.

Competitive it certainly is, being a class winner in the Paul Matty Sportscars Classic Championship, yet remaining entirely road usable; in fact, around 8000 miles has been added to the odometer in our client’s ownership.

This special Porsche is only being made available as our customer now has an Italian focus, with a new Abarth project. The sale includes the neat SJZ 7814 cherished registration (the Porsche advertising and demonstrator numbers being 4 numbers with an SZ prefix) together with spare racing seat, original panels and sundry spares.

Mechanicals

The specification is as follows:

1) Full race Paul Foreman engine, big bore 2056cc with uprated Keith Black pistons, ARP2000 rod bolts, bigger valves, 9:1 compression, Webcam camshaft, oil catch tank, dry sumped, balanced crank, 123 electronic distributor, Magnecor leads 110hp and 125 lbs torque (dyno sheets are in the history file). This translates into being a very quick car with this engine being both torquey and rev happy. A great combination, we like it!

2) Lightweight flywheel with 215mm 6 spring clutch plate

3) Limited slip differential

4) RennShift performance shifter conversion and full transmission rebuild

5) 140lb rear springs

6) RSR adjustable front anti roll bar

7) 911 Turbo steering kit

8) Dry cell red top battery with master switch

9) Modified lightweight fuel tank

10) Front wheel bearing replaced

11) Brake overhaul with racing brake fluid added

12) Toyo 888R tyres

Bodywork

This presents very smartly in its coat of evocative orange paint, with fiberglass GT specification boot, bonnet, bumpers and spoiler (originals come with the car).

Interior

Our car has the original seats fitted and also comes with a lightened race seat. Luke 6 point harnesses are fitted and the weight saving regime continues inside with the blower and heating deleted. The RennShift gearlever and gate are a feature, and all in all this is a purposeful place to sit.

Summary

This very fast Porsche is ready for it’s next competitive adventure. Supplied with a comprehensive history file with owner’s notes, owner’s manual, workshop manual and 914 literature.
