The Renault Alpine A310 represents a unique chapter in the history of French sports cars of the 1970s and 1980s – both technically and in character, it sits somewhere between the pure-bred rally car A110 and the later, more ‘civilised’ GT models. The 1976 V6 version brought a fundamental change: instead of the original four-cylinder engine, the car was fitted with the jointly developed PRV six-cylinder engine, making it a fully-fledged competitor to the Porsche 911 of the time, albeit with a typically different, slightly oversteering character due to its rear-wheel-drive layout. The fibreglass body on a spaceframe, hand-built construction and a range of unexpected components from various French models give the A310 a distinctive, almost ‘garage racer’ character, which today makes the car a collector’s item and significantly different from the conventional sports coupés of its era. Year of manufacture: 1984, version with a 2, 664 cc PRV V6 engine, mounted longitudinally at the rear and coupled with a five-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive. The engine produces approximately 150 hp (110 kW) and torque of around 200 Nm, which, combined with a kerb weight of approximately 1, 000 kg, enables a top speed of around 225 km/ h. The car is fully functional and roadworthy, having been part of a collection for some time. Registered in the Czech Republic with white number plates.
