1959' Triumph TR3 A

This stunning Triumph TR3A was brought over to the UK in 2009 and was subject of a full nut and bolt restoration with some tasteful light modifications. The TR presents beautifully underneath with a stunning chassis and underbody and with only 1000 miles covered since completion the underbody looks fresh and almost as new. The body was removed from the chassis and both were rebuilt to a high standard and the car fully re-painted in Black. New/re-chromed bright work was fitted to the car, as was a brand new mohair hood, weather equipment and a brand new beautiful leather upholstery with high quality carpets tailored to fit. A new set of painted wire wheels and tyres were fitted and the car today presents exceptionally well.

691 XUR is mechanically excellent with a first class rebuilt engine holding excellent oil pressure. The car feels an exceptionally quick TR3A has sounds terrific and has a fast road type feel and style to it. The carburettors were overhauled, the J Type overdrive unit rebuilt and new parts and light modifications include brand new rack and pinion steering, high torque starter motor and oil cooler. The TR3A is a fabulous driver with lots of power, a really strong robust engine, smooth gearbox and working overdrive. The TR handles and brakes very well, the steering particulate good being rack and pinion. Brakes and suspension have all been replaced, as have many ancillaries as expected with a ground up restoration.

This is the perfect usable TR3A, its set up perfectly, drives superbly and is ideal for long distance touring. The car has been finished to a very high standard but whilst it isn’t concours, the underside shows what a top class car this is and is in the right condition to be not too frightened to use. This car was on display on the TR stand at the NEC Classic Car Show so it is a car that can also be put on show without concern. 691 XUR has been with its most recent owner in Bromsgrove for the past six years, a retired electronics engineer who has been right through the car to ensure its as good as it looks.
