Comentarios del vendedor sobre 1959' Alfa Romeo Giulietta 750 D Spider
1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider 750 D, LHD. White exterior with a red interior.
Following demand from the legendary New York based European car importer Max Hoffman, Alfa Romeo commissioned Italian design house Pininfarina to design a convertible body style for their successful Giulietta range which consisted of a saloon (Berlina) and coupe (Sprint). The early versions of Giulietta cars had the internal code of 750 Series and are arguably the most desirable today due to the purity of their design. The two-seater Spiders were launched in 1955 and shared their 1,290cc aluminium twin-cam engines with the saloons and coupes and due to their light weight bodies, their performance was exciting and their handling exceptional. These attributes did not go unnoticed and as well as being hugely popular around the world, they were very successful in competition too. Available in either single Solex carburettor “Normale” form or twin Weber carburettor “Veloce”, the later editions became known as the 101 Series, and towards the end of production the 1300cc engine was enlarged to 1600cc and the name changed from Giulietta to Giulia. Production of the Giulia Spider ceased in 1965, almost two years after the Saloon and Sprint had been replaced by the later 105 Series cars.
This beautiful example was completely restored in Italy in recent years and remains in exceptional condition following a full JD Classics recommissioning and detailing. These superb cars are delightful and easy to drive, and with their large trunks and sturdy roofs they are very appropriate for touring and events.
