HISTORY - I purchased the car from DS World 11 years ago from their reserve collection. The car came from the Toulouse area and was parked up in a garage very early on in its life hence the low mileage. It was purchased by a Dutch museum who stripped and primer etched its exterior panels. There was absolutely no rust. Their plans changed and the car in this semi preserved state was purchased by DS World who tucked it away until I purchased it. Photos available
RESTORATION - The car was completely dismantled and the inner structure was cleaned but the perfect original under seal was left in place. This structure was painted satin black and then the reassembly of the restored parts commenced.

All wheel bearings and bushes were replaced. The original centre lock wheels were shot blasted and painted the correct shade of chocolate brown and shod with the correct Michelin tyres.
The original wiring loom was in excellent condition refitted with all instruments and lights refurbished or replaced with new old stock.
The Engine was entrusted to Carl Hopkins Services and completely checked and rebuilt.
The gearbox was similarly treated to a full inspection and rebuild of the hydraulic selectors by DS WORKSHOP.
Starter motor and dynamo were rebuilt and a new stainless steel exhaust system fitted.
The fuel tank has been opened, cleaned and sealed and the radiator re cored.
All brightwork was stripped, polished and re chromed and fitted.
All the glass was refitted along with a later glass rear window. (Original Perspex r/w goes with the car)
All rubber body seals were replaced.
All external panels were prepped and painted along with the fibreglass roof before fitting and aligning.
COMMENTS - This early DS drives as it should. The longstroke engine pulls well and runs very smoothly. The levelling suspension adjusts well and inspires confidence with that magic bit of atomically adjusting itself when you have exited the car. The brakes ,as all DSs are amazing and the semi auto shift is a delight with fingertip control.
The DS comes with the original ashtray clock and the press studded vanity mirror. These are usually long gone missing.
