1973 - Citroën DS 23 Pallas
French registration papers (as a historic vehicle) Chassis number: 00FE6973
- Desirable version with hydraulic gearbox - Only 3 owners from new - Numerous service bills over last 5 years
The DS 23 Pallas we are presenting here is a carburettor version with a hydraulic gearbox, first registered on 17 April 1973 in the Alpes Maritimes. Its first owner kept it for 7 years before selling it to Mr Marquer from Paris in 1980. He held on to it for 33 years before it joined Pierre Brignole’s collection in 2013. The car which he described as his “childhood dream” thus became reality. Complete and in good running order, it appears that this DS 23 has always been well maintained. With the exception of some minor bodywork damage to the left rear wing, the car presents well in its original shade of Beige Tholonet (AC 085). The interior has an attractive patina, the only modern touch – an amusing detail nonetheless – being the presence of the Rolls-Royce of car radios, a Clarion head unit with a 6 CD changer, which the music-loving Brignole had installed. Behind the wheel, the car’s handling met our expectations: the gearbox is smooth and the entire hydraulic system works well. Several jobs have been carried out since 2014, such as the replacement of the suspension spheres, the fitment of a stainless-steel exhaust system and the replacement of the belts and the hydraulic pump, as well as all the hoses at the start of 2019.
