For sale in our Detroit showroom is this 1969 Dodge Superbee. The original Dodge Super Bee was based on the design of the Dodge Coronet, designed as a two-door coupe, and was produced from 1968 until 1970. It was the company's low-priced powerful muscle car, derived from the design of the Plymouth Road Runner, and retailed at USD$3,027 on the consumer market. The origin of the name, "Super Bee", has its basis in the "B" Body designation pertinent to Chrysler's mid-sized cars, including the Road Runner and Charger. There were several engine options for the Superbee and this particular 1969 has the 383 cubic inch V8 which has less than 10,000 miles since it was rebuilt and is mated to a Mopar 3–speed automatic transmission and really makes the car a blast to drive. This Superbee has had only a few minor modifications from its original condition having torsion supports and frame ties installed for a bit better performance and longevity, a new alternator was installed, and a few years back had a fresh coat of blue paint sprayed which has this Dodge still looking fantastic to this day. This 1969 Dodge Superbee is also equipped with the N96 Air Grabber which was a new optional twin – scooped air induction hood called the “Ramcharger” which had become available in 1969, this option gave the Superbee a real menacing look and added to the engine performance as well. This 1969 Superbee is one beautiful looking and great performing Mopar that is a lot of fun to drive. With the great condition of this Superbee it will no doubt be a great cruiser for many years to come with nothing more than the regular maintenance leaving plenty of time for some exhilarating drives and days at the car shows getting tons of attention. Options on this 1969 Superbee include: AM Radio, power brakes, power steering, vinyl interior, seat belts, and rally wheels wrapped in raised white lettered radial tires.
