Ferrari 330 GT 1964
One of 625 series 1 330 GT models made, this car was originally destined for actor Peter Sellars, but delivered to Lord Peter Cadbury on the 16th June 1964, as described in a letter from their mutual friend Sir Douglas Bader, World War II flying ace. Flown from Ferrari Modena factory to Maranello Concessionaires Bournmouth and finished in Rosso Red with Beige leather interior and believed to be one of only three cars to be sold with a sunroof.
First registered WTV 1 the car was later registered by Lord Cadbury’s wife. Sold in 1978 by a Ferrari specialist in Sydney the car was then sold to a Mr G Carlier in New South Wales where the car was returned to the original “Rosso” after a bare metal repaint. Sold to the last owner in 1982 who had maintained ownership for the past 37 years. In 2016 at 65,240 miles the car underwent a comprehensive mechanical and suspension refurbishment totaling almost $90,000 for which there are full receipts from marque specialists Les Miller Motors. A full leather re-trim was also carried out some years ago and the interior is in excellent order. Importantly the car also includes a full tool kit and bag.
The fascinating and well-documented early history of the owners of this 330 GT makes for interesting reading in itself.
