Comentarios del vendedor sobre 1962' Jaguar E-Type

This original RHD Jaguar E Type S1 3.8 Roadster is a very fast road car with a rebuilt bespoke stage two engine using its original XKE 3.8 engine block and is fitted with a XK engineering wide angled head which we are reliably informed produces circa 320/ 330bhp.

The previous owner has contacted the original client who commissioned the engine Rebuild from DJB (David Butcher) and confirmed the engine specification as follows: a wide angled head was fitted to its original XKE 3.8 block with fast road cams, one stage down from racing, but more driveable for road use and a better tick over.

As well are the valve springs being stronger and the cam followers being lightened, with inlet valves one sixteenth less than maximum possible, making engine rev easier and die faster.

Including all new valve guides and hardened stem valve seats for unleaded petrol along with the head being gas flowed and bored out to match Weber 45 DCOE’s with racing chokes.

His final comment was ‘’that the car should reach a max possible speed based on its standard diff and 4 speed 4.2 E Type all synchromesh gearbox 165/170 mph and I used to do 150 mph easily and regularly’’

In the last 6/ 7 years the previous owner has had this E Type stripped back to the bulkhead and replaced engine frames, had the exterior resprayed, fitted a new interior kit including a new Mohair hood and extensively overhauled the rear axle carrier.

All this work is recorded within this vehicles history file, there are numerous photographs of the bulkhead stripped back to its monocoque and bodyshell respray with many invoices for parts purchased and also it’s original Moss gearbox which accompanies this E Type.

Finished in its original exterior colour of Carmen Red with a Black interior and Black Hood as stated on its Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
