Registration No: F383 RNM Chassis No: SAJNV4840KC161473 MOT: July 2027Two previous owners from new, and repatriated by the vendor having been purchased in MiamiOnly 34, 000 miles from newConcours award winner while a resident in AmericaNotably original example, and supplied with a history fileIntroduced at the 1988 Geneva Motor Show, the long-awaited full convertible version of Jaguar’s XJ-S featured a reinforced floorpan, frameless doors and sophisticated electric hood. Underpinned by the same all-round independent coil-sprung suspension and power-assisted rack and pinion steering as its siblings, the soft-top came with anti-lock brakes as standard. With the HE V12 engine installed a top speed of 150mph with 0-60mph in under eight seconds was attainable. Arguably better looking than the Coupé that spawned it, the Jaguar XJ-S Convertible proved a hit on both sides of the Atlantic. A highly capable grand tourer, it still impresses today as a stylish and luxurious mile muncher. While the XJ-S has a strong following in its native land, this particular V12 Convertible is quite out of the ordinary, being a left-hand drive model originally supplied to the USA. It was reportedly a single-owner car until circa 2001, when the second owner, an ex-patriate Swede, purchased it. He proceeded to keep it until circa 2021, when it was purchased by our vendor, an enthusiastic Jaguar collector, while he was living in Miami. With only 33, 000 recorded miles, it was too good to ignore, and having enjoyed it for a few years he brought it to England with him and registered it in 2025, upon returning home to Shropshire. While in America, the Jaguar garnered an excellent reputation in Miami’s old car scene, where it was often shown, and it distinguished itself at the Miami Concours when it was awarded 97. 9 out of 100 points. Our vendor has done much to maintain its high standard of presentation, and has spent money on items such as the new Dayton wire wheels and new tyres, which cost $6, 000 and really lend a touch of Floridian glamour. A further £3, 800 was spent earlier in 2026 on a new mohair hood and tonneau cover. Other expenditure has included the refurbishment of the centre console in 2013, new front and rear shock absorbers in 2014, a new steering rack in 2018, new starting equipment in 2021, and a new air-conditioning compressor in 2024.The Jaguar is to be sold with a wealth of paperwork including invoices for service and general improvement work, and the book pack in its original wallet. Also to be included are an assortment of spares and the original steering wheel. Now showing just under 35, 000 miles, it has a no-advisories MOT until July, 2027
