Comentarios del vendedor sobre 1954' Land Rover Series 1
Here we have a rather nice restoration project. This Land Rover 86" chassis number 57100646 would have been built in late 1954. Truck ¼ Ton 4x4 GS Rover Mk3- Military Reg number 39 BP 04: Chassis: 57100646 Engine: 57101011 Contract: 6/Veh/16223 [Dated 26 May 1954] Service: 9 November 1954 under Receipt Voucher-ASC/R/2362 [12th B Vehicle Depot Ashchurch in Gloucestershire in Southern Command] and Struck Off Census at WD Storage & Disposal Depot Ruddington in Nottinghamshire on 8 April 1964. Sold Off: 74th Ruddington Auction on 21 July 1964 as Lot-377, located on Ruddington’s “Cable Ground”. It is possible that the first unit to use 39 BP 04 was 160 Provost Company Royal Military Police in Southern Command. It left service in 1965 and was registered as COT 98C in Ringwood Hampshire. Original chassis plate and military plate in place. Up to date V5 here and ready to go in new owners name. Last on the road in 2005 it has been resting since. Original buff log book in the history file. It is now running a 2.25 Land Rover petrol engine which was put in a long time ago. It has recently been got up and running and can now be driven onto a trailer and manoeuvred around but has no brakes! Invoice on file for various works to get the engine running of £1669 a few months ago. The chassis looks sound and has had various welding over the years but doesn't look to need any now. The bulkhead needs a top rail and some work in the drivers footwell otherwise solid. All complete this will make a great restoration project and could be put back on the road and used as is. The bodywork has been hand painted many years ago and is showing orange paint through the green maybe from its military past?
