The Mercedes-Benz 450 SL of the R107 series represents one of the most successful generations of Mercedes-Benz sports roadsters. The model combined the character of an open-top two-seater with the comfort and robust engineering typical of the brand. The R107 series was produced from 1971 onwards and, thanks to its timeless design, high-quality build and wide range of powerful engines, it has gradually become a sought-after classic car. This particular car was first registered in 1976 and is an original American-specification 450 SL. It is powered by a 4, 520 cm³ V8 engine producing 142 kW (193 k), mated to an automatic gearbox and rear-wheel drive. The car was previously registered in Florida and subsequently imported to Europe. It later became part of a comprehensive collection of Mercedes-Benz SL-Class cars. In 2018, it underwent an extensive restoration by the specialist firm Fošum Cars s. r. o., which included repairs to the engine, chassis and braking system. Worn rubber parts, pins and joints were also replaced. The bodywork was professionally repaired and completely repainted. The restoration also included a new soft top. Attention was also paid to the interior, where the carpets throughout the cabin were replaced, a new dashboard cover was fitted and other interior elements were refurbished, with an emphasis on preserving the car’s original character. A complete file of invoices documenting the work carried out and the parts used is available with the car. The car is in good technical condition and fully roadworthy, registered with classic car number plates and holds a valid historic vehicle certificate.
