1968' Porsche 912

Porsche 912 Targa, 1968, LHD, Porsche Seal Grey, Black leather interior, Fuchs Alloys, 5 speed.

Car was imported from USA in 1992 and has had 2 owners (including me) since 1994. The previous owner was a lead engineer for an engine design consultancy, (clients include Ferrari, McLaren, Buggati, Mini/BMW and JCB DieselMax which holds the diesel land speed record). He rebuilt the Porsche 912 engine completely, installing Weber Carbs. Since then it has done only 10,000 miles (over the last 12 years). He owned the car for 11 years and during that time also had about 90% of the floor pan replaced as well as repairs on some bodywork.

He was in the middle of the interior restoration as well as finishing some bodywork when he sold the car to me. I have included some photos of the car when I purchased it.

I have since had the body work completed (not bare metal but about 75-80%). This was completed over 11 years ago and no rust has come through.

I had the car completely re-upholstered using black leather as well as getting the carpets made and replaced (I couldn’t get hold of Porsche carpet at that time so used Rolls Royce carpet as my upholsterer worked for Rolls Royce on their interiors).

The Targa roof was stripped, repaired & re-covered by my upholsterer at that time.

As with most classic cars there are still things that could be done.

It has been stored in a garage when not being driven.

It drives really well and always gets a lot of attention.

I now have two young children and am renovating a house so unfortunately it is time for her to go.
