This charming Singer was registered in July 1934 and a dash mounted brass plaque suggests it was supplied by the dealer Idris Jones in Lampeter to its first owner. The current owner since 1984 is well known in the Singer Car club as an active member competing many European rallies in his own cars, this being one of them, but also for carrying out very high quality restorations on Singer cars.
The four-seater coachbuilt tourer is beautifully presented with an obvious attention to detail and correctness. Sitting on recently fitted and correct Dunlop 450-18 tyres on the front and 4.75 / 500 on the rear with Rudge Whitworth type wire wheels.
Visually appealing with Art Deco style front wings and no running boards which was only a combination for a few years. The Vendor advises that the steering is “ very precise and the car does not wander on the road“.
This well sorted car from a highly respected marque specialist with the combination of the flat folding windscreen is the perfect excuse to buy an Irvin flying jacket and goggles and experience the charm of open air pre-war motoring.
