Commentaires du vendeur sur 1961' Aston Martin DB4

Now this is a very special car. This Aston Martin DB4 Series III was delivered new in 1961 by Rémy Mannès (the Aston Martin importer for the Benelux countries at the time) to its first owner in Amsterdam. The car was ordered in Snow Shadow Grey with black hide, and had some interesting options specified : overdrive, electric window lifts, oil cooler and a heated rear window. It was an original European specification car with LHD steering. In 1975, the first Dutch owner passed the car on to his son, who cherished it and kept it in his possession until now. This makes it an Aston Martin with "one family ownership" which is quite unique.

In 1993, the DB4 underwent a full engine and gearbox rebuild by Ian Mason, and at the same time the body and chassis were restored to new conditon by Nigel Cooper Restorations. As the interior was still in very good condition, it remained untouched and even today this completely original interior still looks incredibly patinated and for that reason absolutely lovely. I have never seen such a beautiful 60 years old leather car interior to be honest ! During the engine rebuild , the engine size was increased from 3,7 litre to 4,0 litre, which add some extra torque and performance. The car starts on the button and is a pleasure to drive : really powerful and with a glorious sound. Of course, this DB4 is 100% matching nrs and colours, and exactly as it left the Newport Pagnell factory in 1961. Simply unique.

And there is more good news : the car comes with a massive documentation file including the original Dutch registration from 1961. There are some invoices from the sixties, but from 1975 every single MOT report, invoice, correspondence and registration is kept in the file. The mileage is fully traceable from 1975 on, and the multiple invoices shows how much love this car has received during its life.

This DB4 ticks all the right boxes for the serious collector : single family ownership, original interior, fully documented, matching nrs and colours, and still in magnificent condition. On top of that, it is an original LHD European specification example and a real pleasure to drive. Certainly one of the most impressive cars we have ever seen in our inventory.

Price on request.
