Do you fancy a car that could win the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance? Well, this isn't it! However .... if you don't mind a bit of scruffiness around the edges and you want a car that drives properly and is as lively as a lively thing - then this could be the car for you!! To be serious, the black paintwork is not so good in places, but the car drives so well that this can be forgiven. It is quick for a standard Austin Ruby and has a nice clutch with good, long travel - the best we have had in fact. The brakes work in an Austin Seven fashion, the charging system works, fuel gauge works and it has semaphores fitted though these are a little tardy. Internally, it is very good indeed, having been fully re-trimmed in recent times, and the headlining is a top quality job. This car has been driven regularly, and is for using, not mothballing as it is a great-driving little car. We have just tuned the engine, hence its new-found performance, and fitted a new battery. V5C.
