Austin Vanden Plas Princess Limousine.1965.All matching numbers,Chassis & Engine.Original Monmouthshire Registration. Manual with Power Steering.Excellent Condition including interior woodwork and exterior paint and chrome fittings. MOT April 2017.Stainless Steel Exhaust. Mileage 93000, with negligible oil consumption which would indicate that the mileage may be correct but unable to verify. Totally reliable and runs superbly. Has fitted Kenlowe electric fan which prevents any potential overheating issues,(of which there are none). Car comes with a quantity of useful spares incl Power Steering Ram,Starter,Dynamo,Water Pump and other sundry items. Has factory workshop Manual and copy of factory handbook. Has just had fitted a set of the correct 700x16 tyres. Period Radiomobile radio,( for Light Programme and Home Service stations)!? All copies of invoices and expenditure whilst in our ownership since 2010. Maintained by former BMC dealership engineer. Originally the property of ICI British Nylon Spinners it was one of two VDP Princess cars ordered together from BMC Agents,Howells of Cardiff.Always owned locally. The car was one of a number of Limousines used to convey various dignitaries on the occasion of the opening, by HM The Queen, of the original Severn Bridge crossing in 1967. Was used in Funeral Trade for short time before being dry stored for a number of years then latterly restored by the previous owner who changed the Black Coachwork to Kings Blue and retrimmed the interior in Bridge of Weir grey leather from the original brown. The Princess has been a very popular car in our Wedding Fleet not only by it's sheer size and ability to carry 7 passengers, but it's stunning appearance giving a certain air of presence to the occasion.Always greatly admired by all who see her, although many do not know what she is or can remember once you have told them! In 2015 the car was used in the BBC filming of 'Princess in Peril', shown on the One Show which re-told the attempted kidnap of the HRH The Princess Ann in The Mall,London in the 1970's. A DVD copy of the film is included with the car. The car is only offered for sale due to our retirement from the Wedding Car Hire business and offers the opportunity for the new owner to continue in this line if desired.
