Commentaires du vendeur sur 1955' Bentley S1

Unrepeatable, why, because most people don’t live long enough..! Acquired by a young Professor in his late 20, s in 1961, only parting with his beloved car in his 80,s due to failing health. The documentation is so comprehensive it takes a full evening to read through. Detailed invoicing from Crewe running back to the early 1960,s, typed up in the traditional manner on embossed headed paper, stamped and chrome pinned. Original artifacts remain in place, normally mislaid years earlier. These include the factory toolkits, small and large, original 12 V inspection lamp, factory handbooks and radio instructions, factory warranty and His Masters Voice original Valve Radio in place, operating crackle free with a period clear sound. An extremely special touch is the factory touring kit, ordered in 1968 at a cost of £85 documented, (1/10th cost of a brand new Ford Cortina at that time !) when the Professor drove the car from England to his Continental base. Included in the hand made wooden case are the period "Purple Shank" Lodge Spark Plugs, Cylinder head, Inlet and Exhaust manifold gaskets, sump and rocker cover gaskets, brake cylinder seals, inlet and exhaust valve springs and seals, fuel and top/bottom radiator hoses, right down to spare elements for the cigarette lighter ! The dryness and originality of the interior just fixates you on the spot in amazement, oozing the correct aroma supporting your first impression. Under bonnet is untouched with the original wiring loom sitting perfect, running into its undamaged original Bakelite fuse boxes as if time has stood still since 1955. All original nuts, screws, fasteners and clips remain undamaged. The doors shut with the correct reassuring clonk for this period. Driving is more of a glide, boasting that satisfying all together feel of a car that has never been apart. All this, backed up by a substantially comprehensive history file, to satisfy the purist of buyers. Finished in the ultimate colour combination. Almost like arriving at Jack Barclays showrooms in 1961. Irreplaceable and unrepeatable ! (Reg Excluded) May P/X
