L'Atelier des 1000 is delighted to offer for sale an absolute icon of Italian motoring, the Fiat Dino Coupé 2000 in its stunning Rosso Corsa livery and elegant black vinyl interior.Born from the collaboration between Fiat and Ferrari in the late 1960s, the Fiat Dino is an emblematic model designed to enable the homologation of the legendary Ferrari V6 in competition.It thus receives the celebrated all-aluminium V6 engine designed by Alfredo Ferrari, son of Enzo Ferrari, offering a unique driving experience and distinctive engine note.Produced between 1967 and 1969, the Fiat Dino 'Coupé Bertone' 2. 0 was manufactured in only 6, 068 examples.Its 1, 987 cc Ferrari V6, fed by three twin-choke Weber carburettors, develops 160 bhp at 7, 200 rpm and allows the car to reach nearly 205 km/ h.A particularly impressive specification for a Grand Tourer coupé from the late 1960s, which today makes this first series the most sought-after by purists for its more spirited engine and sporting character.The model we are presenting was first registered on 26 July 1968.Its last owner has owned it since 2010 and it is accompanied by an extensive file of invoices representing approximately €40, 000 of mechanical work carried out over the last 17 years, testament to the care lavished on the car.Our example offers a presentation in paint and interior that is entirely satisfactory as well as thoroughly overhauled mechanics; nevertheless, there are a few minor imperfections which we can assist the future owner with.Mechanically, this Dino benefited from a complete engine rebuild in 2019, carried out by a professional.The engine was entirely reconstructed with the block and cylinder heads being machined and all internal components replaced with new items: pistons, liners, valves, bearings, tappets, gasket kit, timing chain and all components necessary for a complete rebuild.The ancillaries were also replaced during this work, such as the replacement of the 3 carburettors with new Weber 40 DNCF 12 models, guaranteeing reliable operation and compliance with Ferrari requirements.The engine runs perfectly, its tuning is very satisfactory, it revs with vigour and delivers the metallic note so characteristic of the Ferrari V6, the true signature of the Fiat Dino.The car has been fitted with electronic ignition to ensure reliable operation.The exhaust has been replaced with a custom-made stainless steel system.The gearbox engages and locks its ratios correctly, whilst the clutch performs its role perfectly.The front suspension was replaced in 2014, at which time a complete front end overhaul was carried out.The braking is effective and well-balanced.The alloy wheels are in fine condition, shod with Michelin tyres in good condition.The paintwork presents well, whilst the alignment is within standards.Although this does not prevent a favourable MOT result, our inspection on the lift allowed us to identify a few areas of bodywork that would benefit from attention.The interior is well preserved, the black vinyl seats are in fine condition, comfortable and without sagging.
