Commentaires du vendeur sur 1942' Ford Super Deluxe
Hard to find if not rare 1942 Super Deluxe Fordor Flathead 6. This 1942 beauty has survived as many 1942's did not. To begin with the 1942 production run was much shorter than prior or subsequent year due to the USA entering World War II after Pearl Harbor. No civilian autos were produced after February 10th , 1942 which means only about 20% to 25% of the volume of other similar years were made. Add to this the extremely high mileage use of this final pre war vehicle as taxis, police cars, mail delivery cars and government uses until 1946 when civilian production was finally started again and you know why so few have survived. The Ford Flathead 6 was also limited and not common as Henry Ford refused to produce a "6" from 1912 to 1941. The new 225 CI 90HP "6" replaced a smaller less powerful V8 65 HP engine in 1941. This Super Deluxe is a nice example of many of the great traits of days gone by. The 1942 Super Deluxe had many upgrades and changes from prior years and lesser models including but not limited to: redesigned with fully concealed running boards, new front fenders, new hood, The headlights were designed flush with the fronts of the fender, and horizontal parking lights were located in the sheet metal above the new grille design..Lower height by one inch from the 1941's with wider leaf springs, a two inch wider tread and dual lateral stabilizer bars. The 1942 Super Deluxe had bright trim plates on the windshield, rear window and side windows. The chrome trim rings and hubcaps added to its looks. Inside features included an electric clock, crank operated vent windows, full circle horn ring and instrument panel finished in Sequoia grain. This Super Deluxe has good to very good paint, chrome and the interior has been redone in a fashion reminiscent for the early 1940's. The engine compartment has a few additions of some chrome but for the most part is as it was when new in 1942. The chrome bolts give it a nice subtle updated look while maintaining the 1940's period charm.
