Originally exported to RAF Victorville, California by two RAF Flight Lieutenants before being repatriated in 1964
Recently treated to a new soft-top at the cost of £7, 000

By the time the XK150 was launched in May 1957, Jaguar had won Le Mans four times and was about to do so once again—what a backdrop against which to market a new sports car. Though the newcomer was a logical progression of the XK140, subtle changes to the bodywork gave this final iteration of the XK models a distinctly more modern air. The split windscreen was replaced with a single sweep of toughened glass, while the scuttle and waistline were raised, the bonnet widened and the bulkhead on the Roadster moved rearwards by four inches. Inside, the walnut dashboard was replaced by one trimmed in leather, with thinner doors providing greater interior space. The familiar 3. 4-litre DOHC straight-six was retained, with the optional SE and later ‘S’ engines offering increased performance. The XK150 was also the first production Jaguar equipped with disc brakes. Offered in Fixed Head Coupé and Drophead Coupé forms from launch, the Open Two-Seater Roadster followed in 1958, with 2, 672 Drophead Coupés ultimately produced.
This 1958 XK150 3. 4 Drophead Coupé is an especially noteworthy example, being the 30th XK150 produced in right-hand drive. Its early history is particularly intriguing, having been exported to RAF Victorville, California by two RAF Flight Lieutenants before making its way back to Britain in 1964. This Jaguar has subsequently remained in enthusiastic ownership, having been frequently used and regularly maintained by its present custodian for some 24 years. More recently, it has benefited from the installation of a new soft-top at a cost of approximately £7, 000, ensuring that this handsome Drophead remains well equipped for open-air touring. Accompanying the car is a truly remarkable history file, offering an impressive record of its life and provenance.
