Commentaires du vendeur sur 1978' Land Rover Series 3 109"

Here for sale is a very straight and tidy Land Rover Series 3 109" pick-up in very good condition. This Land Rover is mechanical excellent and wants for very little or maybe nothing!

The previous owner purchased this Land Rover 5 years ago from the showroom of the Panorama Bay Motor Co in Sandbanks, Poole (Dorset)
A little unusual to have a 109" pick-up in a showroom in Sandbanks!

With the Land Rover comes a large pile of bills for the last 5 years- evidence that this vehicle has been extremely well maintained regardless of cost.

Included is an original series 3 sales brochure, an original owner's manual plus the original jack and starting handle.

Recently it has just done a straight road trip of more than 240 miles without a single problem. The brakes are excellent and stop the vehicle very well in a straight line. Clutch and gearbox are very good with no untoward noises and function very well. Free wheeling hubs and four wheel drive system work well.

The 2.6 6 cylinder engine is as smooth as can be and performs extremely well. It holds excellent oil pressure and maintains its optimum running temperature with no problems. There is not a single oil or coolant leak from the engine, gearbox or differentials that I can see. I've had four 6 cylinder Land Rovers and this engine is the best out the lot. It starts from cold easily as well as starting from hot.

All electrics are working - interior:- chocke warning lamp, oil pressure warning lamp and main beam warning lamp work. Panel lamps illuminate. Fuel and temperature gauges work as well as the speedo.
Two speed heater works although these old Simths heaters are not the most powerful. Wipers and washers work well.
Exterior- all lights working well.
I have fitted a small auxiliary 12volt heater to help warm things up as it's winter and I'm currently using this vehicle daily.

Interior seats are in good original condition - the middle seat is a newer addition as once before there was a "cubby box" fitted which I will include in the sale.

The chassis and bulkhead are extremely good. There has been the odd repair done in the past which has been done well. The chassis has been regularly wax oiled and should have a large number of years to go without needing any work. The bulkhead is very solid.

It has been sprayed very well in recent years in its original colour of bronze green . The panel work is very straight and tidy.

The date of first registration is 01/01/1979 meaning that within a year now the Land Rover will be tax and MOT exempt. A heritage certificate can easily be obtained for this vehicle which would give you the exact build date in order to get the historic tax class and MOT exemption processed through DVLA even quicker than waiting for the one year.

If you are looking for a very good all round tidy rare 109" then I'm sure you'll not be disappointed with this one! It's on the road and ready to be used without needing any work. It's not mint and does show signs of its age as you'd expect.

Two sets of keys are included.

I can help arrange transportation to anywhere in the country if needed.

If you have any questions please feel free to call or email me.

Many thank,

Kirk.
