We have here something rather unusual.

It's a genuine Mini Marcos MK III shell, made with the last surviving Mini Marcos Ltd moulds. The actual moulds came from Brian Raubenheimer, who was active in supplying these cars in South Africa.

All the brackets are genuine Mini Marcos Ltd, and are made from the build sheet plans (dated 1965) from the Mini Marcos company. The bodyshell has been assembled and fixed in the correct way, with epoxy glue and fibreglass resin. All the materials used are Lloyds Approved, namely gelcoat, chopped strand Mat (300G/M2, 450G/M2, 600G/M2 & 900G/M2) and resin.

In addition, all the necessary fixing holes belonging to the front and rear subframes have been drilled, and a Mini bulkhead (taken from a Mini MK II) has been welded, with a genuine bracket, and fixed with epoxy glue and fibreglass resin.

I believe that this completed car would be eligible for FIA and for the Goodwood Revival, the Le Mans Classic, the Spa 6 hours and many other FIA race events.

As its stands, it's pretty much a blank canvas for someone to finish. However, there is also the option of a more comprehensive build to suit the individual: this could be something as basic as suspension components or interior or a respray, all the way up to a completed car. There are also various engine options available, according to taste (and pocket!).

All in all, a great chance to obtain a real slice of mid-sixties nostalgia - and if the small ads that I've seen are anything to go by, these little cars are going steadily up and up in value.

Please note that the car is currently in France but can be delivered to the UK for a modest sum. More images/ descriptive details are freely available: just ask.
