Commentaires du vendeur sur 1959' MG MGA Mark 1 1600
This car was an Australian assembled CKD 1600 Mark 1 which was despatched in Sept. 1959.I have ownership details going back to the Mid 80s with a large file of receipts etc. This car has had a lot spent on it. Recent works include inter alia : 1. new thermostat and housing 2. new master cylinder 3. new slave cylinders rear and clutch 4. new disc brake calipers 5. stainless steel exhaust 6. numatic indicator switch 7. new leather seat covers 8. new rubber floor mats 9. 5 x new tyres. 10. Engine repaint 11. Rust removed and new lower sills installed 12. New wire wheels 13. New grille 14. stainless steel mirrors door mounted 15. spin off oil filter 16. new MGB regulator 17. new shocks all round 18. new gear knob 19. new foot pedal rubbers 20. rebuilt carburettors 21. new fan shroud to radiator 22. new heat shield to carbs 23. firewall insulation 24. new dip stick rubber cover 25. new rev counter cable 26. new hand brake cable 27. new Bosch Battery (June 2017) 28. Electronic ignition installed 29. Front bumper rechromed 30. New vacuum advance
The car has a slight cam as part of some historic works, so sounds more throaty than your average ‘’A’’. The result is that the car accelerates quickly and the handling is taut and direct with a real go-cart feel around corners. That said, it potters along sweetly if required. The car also has some interesting and noteworthy inclusions primarily, a forceful fan which keeps the cabin cool which if you have been caught in Summer in an ‘A’ irrespective of where you live, you would understand why. As can be seen from the photos, the car is immaculate underneath where a lot of the money has been spent and has had no exposure to salt on the roads. The colour combination of the brooklands green and leather cream interior with the chrome wire wheels is tremendous so I’m pretty sure its not my good looks as to why the car gets all the thumbs up.
The car comes with the side curtains and ragtop which are both in good condition with clear Perspex and a custom tonneau to accommodate the roll bar.
Please note, if the price is met as stated, I would organise and pay for the freight via RORO from Melbourne to Southampton (you would need to cover any insurance etc)
