This Mini Cooper is a fully prepared rally car with its HRVIF and MSA log book, the car has had £1000's spent ! Rallyed by Wing Commander Brian Watson whilst raising money for the RAF.
Papers show the car is homolagated with a 970 Cooper S engine on twin 1 1/4 inch SU carbs (set up and rolling roaded at Mini Sport 86bhp)
Tech Spec
Fully restored Mk1 body shell in 1994, much seam welding and strengthening, Cooper S discs hubs and calipers and drums, MK3 servo and areoquip hoses Castrol racing brake fluid with mintex pads and linings, adjustable tie bars with h/duty bushes DRY suspention with Spax gas shocks, 0.10 toe in rear front 2.75 castor 0 degrees toe out, hi low adjustable height units fitted, 970 S engine bored + 0.020 giving 999cc omega flat top pistons lightweight fly wheel comp clutch, mega dyne 286 camshaft vernier and duplex timing gear, gas flowed big valve 11 stud 12g940 head competition valve springs, crank clutch flywheel and pistons all balanced MG Metro rocker shaft LCB exhaust manifold 13 row oil cooler high capacity oil pump centre pick up crankshaft is stroked and indexed, competition vandervell main and big end bearings.
Fitted with a rare jack knight straight cut close ratio gearkit (whines beautifully but not intrusive) Fia specifacation safety devices roll cage, 2x2 litre fire extinguisher,s 2x4point harnesses, 130 mph speedo, all the navigation equipment, clocks Brantz trip etc etc its as sweet as a nut allthough not as fast as a 1275 much sweeter and revier, any queries questions please ask, i also have a Talbot Sunbeam 2.0 Brazilian historic rallycar for sale !
