*Older restoration *Replacement engine believed to be a Gold Seal unit *Affordable small sized-ration book-era saloon
The Series E offered post-war motorists with a restricted budget the opportunity to buy a small, well-built family saloon and today its ethos makes equal sense in the classic world. This example has average black body and paintwork, the latter requiring improvement and the tan leather interior has the original seats (said to be in average condition), dashboard and carpets being in the same order. Headlining was replaced during the previous restoration and is said to be good. The engine, believed to be a Gold Seal unit, is reported to be good for starting, very good for running and good for presentation (the vendor reports it sounds and runs sweetly) and has the underbonnet tool kit: the running gear is generally good. Electrical main components and ancillaries are said to be average and the original semaphore signals have been replaced by bumper-mounted indicators.
A small-sized yet practical and economical way into the often-forgotten immediate post-war motoring period with the benefit of a replacement engine which is reported to be running well.
£3,500 - 4,500 To be sold without reserve
