The aim was to fully exploit the technical potential of each component whilst preserving the classic character of the G-series model.The bodywork was completely stripped, inspected and given a cathodic protection coating. All components were either meticulously restored or renewed.The paintwork was applied in Ardbeg Green, a bespoke colour developed in inspiration of the Scottish whisky brand Ardbeg.BodyworkNumerous bodywork components were individually fabricated. These include: hand-crafted bonnet and wings with ventilation slots bespoke front oil cooler Original Porsche RS components were fitted, namely – front splitter rear splitter front panel engine cover – installed. The development and manufacture of the front oil cooler alone required approximately 120 man-hours.EngineThe original 930 engine is fitted, enlarged to 3. 6 litres displacement.The engine features classic dual ignition and carburettors. Technical highlights include:The cylinder heads were inspected, measured and CNC machined.The valve guides were renewed.The valves were shot-peened. The valve seat and stem end were re-ground.The rocker arms were inspected, sorted and re-ground.The rocker arm shafts were lapped.The renewed camshaft was reground.The K-Jetronic injectors were inspected, sorted and cleaned. hand-finished ports in the crankcase double-sealed crankshaft seal large capacity oil pump 8-inch flywheel twin-plate clutch Output is 382 PS with 402 Nm torque.With a kerb weight of just 1, 044 kg, this delivers an exceptionally impressive power-to-weight ratio. The engine was completely rebuilt during restoration and brought to a better condition than factory specification. The acceleration is comparable to a Porsche 997 GT3.GearboxThe vehicle is equipped with a 915 gearbox that has been comprehensively overhauled, strengthened and optimised.Among other features, the gearbox includes: mechanical reinforcements and optimisations external, electrically driven gearbox oil coolerThe design is technically oriented towards the standard of a Porsche 935.SuspensionThe vehicle features the classic G-series torsion bar suspension with KW Classic dampers.Additional components: adjustable anti-roll bars bump steer correction separately adjustable compression and rebound dampingThe axle geometry and basic setup were developed at Manthey Racing on their suspension test rig. The vehicle was subsequently fine-tuned and perfected through test driving with AC Schnitzer suspension legend Manfred Wollgarten.Wheels and BrakesFitted with hand-crafted Fuchs alloys in 9J and 11J x 15.Originally the vehicle ran on Michelin TB tyres; currently Pirelli P7 tyres are fitted.The brake system is sourced from the Porsche 930 Turbo / 917.The pedal box was adapted for throttle and brake to facilitate heel-and-toe driving.Some time ago, the main components were inspected and adjusted once more.The vehicle received: wheel alignment check major engine service comprehensive interior and bodywork detailing ceramic paint protectionDocumentationThe vehicle comes with: expert's report comprehensive photographic documentation of the restoration comprehensive invoice documentation approx. €450, 000 report for historic vehicle registrationAdditional AccessoriesIn addition to the fitted ducktail, a ready-to-install whaletail is included with the vehicle.Also included is a hand-crafted leather bag set.The car impresses with its stability and has been reliably driven over several thousand kilometres.
