1967 Porsche 912 Coupe
$59,500..usd dollars.
Engine Size 1600 cc Transmission Type 4 Speed Manual Body Style Coupe Miles 52k
This 1967 Porsche 912 Coupe was completed on July 24, 1967 and finished with a Polo Red (6602) exterior and a Black Leatherette interior.
- Optional equipment included Ventilated Chrome Wheels, Blaupunkt Radio "Frankfurt" (US Band), Loudspeaker, Antenna and 165/15 Semperit Tires.
A detailed ownership history isn't known at this time, but and we acquired the car in Florida earlier this year after giving a careful inspection.
- The former owners had prepared it for long distance tours and road rallies by installing a 1,700cc engine and setting up the suspension with a lowered ride height and adding sway bars.
- The quality of the restoration work performed was impressive, especially the paintwork, but the engine was not running correctly and it needed attention. After bringing the car to our shop, we decided to scrap the 1,700cc engine that was fitted and install a period-correct 1967 912 engine with standard 1,600cc displacement and Weber carburetors. We also installed an original set of Porsche seats and fine-tuned the car for road use.
= The body and paintwork are very good with no signs of ever having accident damage or rust. The Polo Red paint is deep and is a consistent color throughout the car. The glass, trim and exterior lights are very good. The standard chrome ventilated wheels have been upgraded with 15X6 Fuchs alloys that are fitted with 195/60-15 Bridgestone Potenzas. The interior has a sports-purpose look with lightweight style door panels, simple carpets, standard front seats (in excellent condition) and no rear seats.
- The five factory-fitted gauges are in working order while two extras have been added (oil temperature and oil pressure).
- The engine runs very well and just been serviced and had the valves adjusted.
- The four-speed transmission shifts very well and the clutch engages at just the right point.
- This is a very well set-up example of a SWB 912 from 1967 that is ready to be driven spiritedly.
Can be exported at your cost or about $1,500 dollars to the UK port in 4 weeks...bn
