Commentaires du vendeur sur 1936' Riley 12/4 Lynx
Originally a 1935 car, it was restored in the early 1970’s. The chassis (presumably beyond repair) was replaced with an identical 1936 narrow track chassis (26F4005). Retaining its original 22T features such as Rotax headlamps, traditional dashboard with Hobson Teleguage (not working), vertical handbrake, correctly arrowed pre-selector lever and riveted bonnet. The Lynx body was repaired and repainted with top quality coach paint. The majority of the leatherwork is original with one seat rebuilt with new leather. The hood is in fair condition as are the side screens (although I have never used them): the tonneau is virtually new. Thought to have the desirable (1935) special series 12/4 engine and what is believed to be a ‘masked’ cylinder head similar to that of the Sprite engines. The twin SU carburettors have recently been professionally cleaned and tuned, throttle linkage rebuilt and uprated: the car runs well with a steady oil pressure. Again, the sump and oil filter have been professionally cleaned and are leak free, rear bearings replaced, rear shock absorbers re-bushed and brakes relined. MOT to October 9, 2019. It is fitted with a 5:1 rear axle for better cruising and has the Donald Sessions patented jacking system at front and rear. The car has been used sparingly since restoration, has mellowed well and developed a great patina.
