Commentaires du vendeur sur 1934' Riley Kestrel
1934 Riley 12/4 Kestrel Special.
Registration number VL6625
Chassis number: 22T1250
Beautifully fabricated , this Riley special has strong Alfa Romeo styling cues to its rakish open 2 seat bodywork along with those of Zagato. The car was constructed on a no expense spared basis & presents beautifully in black with a maroon hide interior in perfect condition complementing the Maroon wire wheels. To the rear is a recessed spare wheel. A useful luggage storage area is found behind the front seats accessed under a hatch on the rear cowl.
Under the bonnet is Rileys' jewell like 1500cc twin cam; an engine that was well ahead of its time. It revs freely, makes more power then expected & provides a fair turn of speed when coupled with such light bodywork. The dash is a machine turned aluminium item with the usual Riley gauges in the centre. Zeroed after build, the odometer now shows a scant 1478 miles.
Under the bonnet the car is well detailed & tidy. A Kenlowe fan augments cooling behind the recently recored radiator. Twin open faced carbs suck air with a voracious hissing when the car is extended. Power is deployed via the easy to use pre selecet gear box.
The car comes with a full tonneau cover in black mohair. The windscreen is of the fold down variety for an authentic "bugs in the teeth" style motoring. An oversize aluminium filler cap is mounted to the rear. To sum up this is a delightful period & attractive car in utterly fine order ready for extended use.
