Commentaires du vendeur sur 1971' Triumph GT6 Mk3
For lots more pictures, please see our website! This Signal Red GT6 has been in the same ownership for the past 39 years, and has been garaged and dry stored most of that time. Unused since a move to Cornwall in 1996, although it has had some recommissioning work done recently including a replacement fuel tank, two new tyres, a new battery, fuel pump and clutch hydraulics. The car starts and drives, but only has a working handbrake at present. The engine has good oil pressure and sounds healthy although the carbs need cleaning out and setting up. The car is fitted with an overdrive gearbox. The panelwork is all metal apart from the front lower quarter panels which are fibreglass, the original bonnet has had a couple of localised repairs but appears solid, the doors and tailgate are sound, as is the front edge of the roof (I have never seen an original one that good!). The car has had sills fitted at some stage which aren’t a perfect fit, but solid, as well as some aluminium plates bolted to the floor edges to repair them (these could quite easily be removed and metal welded in properly, as most of the floors are sound and original). The chassis looks very good, with just a couple of welded repairs at the front by the antiroll bar mounts.
The interior is pretty good considering it is mostly original although it has had new carpets recently. There is also a pretty funky period steering wheel.
Overall, the car is a very nice little project, not the usual GT6 rotbox, but a car that has been dry stored most of it’s life that is quite original. If you want more pictures or to ask questions, please email or call Mike on 01736 762402
