Commentaires du vendeur sur 1968' Triumph Herald
HCC bring you this fabulous Triumph Herald fresh in and awaiting preparation and some works , you wont want to miss this one , this car has been in long term ownership by its last custodian a Doctor owner who had the car comprehensively restored by Stan Walters at SC classics many years ago and then barely used it due to the nature of his work ,but it was strictly annually maintained and kept turn key ready .Sitting on painted wires with a very nice quality cloth hood if you seek a great super solid convertible in this price bracket you need to consider this one .MOT to sept 2018
Bodywork :: is in lovely condition ,it had a full body off restoration with all necessary metalwork repaired /replaced back in the day and the paint and lines all look sharp , door fit is great with none of the usual poor alignment to rear wings low down, bonnet sits low on drivers side in pics as im waiting for a new rubber buffer stop to arrive from Rimmers , the paint has a super deep shine and apart from a few tiny chips/marks and imperfections that are visible upon very close inspection its as good as the day it left SC Classics.
Interior ::Finished in black the interior is good , carpets were all replaced and are near perfect , original seats/covers are in place drivers seat shows a few marks of usage but not bad , dash is good overall with a bit of a patina look from lacquer crazing, the after market cassette player has been removed but will come with the car if desired .Inertia reel seat belts are a practical addition and it has a decent aftermarket sports steering wheel which allows better leg room. Car has a SSB106 style battery isolator switch fitted accessible from the cockpit .
Engine Bay::Super tidy and clean engine bay ,all very well painted with new ancillaries visible,Full new Autosparks wiring loom throughout the car is visible in the engine bay with other items replaced (horns/ controlbox/flasher relay ).bonnet underside is nice with body colour coded chassis visible , engine side splash panels are excellent and finished in a high quality black finish ,still on dynamo and standard points set up the car has had another engine fitted at some point in its life ( same spec). Its had a service a short time ago and runs /performs very well.
Underside:: Leagues above the average Herald all superbly painted in body colour with chassis in matching colour , all suspension components very nicely painted with shiny copper brake piping and braided flexi hoses . The car hasnt been taken out willingly in the rain in all the years since the restoration .
Boot Area:: Is tidy with spare wheel/ jack/copper-hide mallet painted in body colour with fitted floor mat
Hood /weathergear :: black high quality cloth hood with perfect windows , this hood fits really well in all areas has a hood tonneau to fit over the fold hood and a full cockpit tonneau
Summary :: this car is in great shape ,a genuine CV chassis car sold August 68 it was well restored by a respected specialist in the era , its barely been used since by its long term doctor owner and has a long mot ,under side is fantastic and its obvious that the car had a lot of money put into it ...we are doing some works to the car pre sale and will amend the spec as we go but the price will remain the same . Please call us (9am to 9pm please)for more info on this super car but youll be hard pushed to find better in this price bracket . Overseas welcome and we will help where we can ...deposit secures but in all cases non refundable so please ensure the car is for you
