My 67 is a 3 owner UK RHD 1200 Sparkafer Beetle (4 on the logbook as it changed from one family member to the other from the original family, husband to wife). It's a genuine 117 chassis number 67, with all the right 67 only bits on.

The car has never been welded, wears all its original body panels. Engine is a Remtec engine, fitted back in 2004, but it's done less than 1k miles. Car has a genuine 53k miles on. The original family owned it from Feb 68 (it was registered then, but built May 67) until 2015, it was then sold to a chap called Ian Studley (classic car dealer) who had it in his private collection until he Px'd it for an XK120 project with another dealer. I bought it Oct 18.

I spoke with the original owner about the car just after I bought it.

From 2004 until 2018 it had only done 315 miles, I've done another 600 or so since, sorting all the issues a car being sat for that period brings. The engine is just run in.

Back then the original owner took it off the road, stripped it (no welding required) had it resprayed and recommissioned it, with a new engine as it had been sat in storage for 12yrs and the oil in the original engine had turned to sludge.

Since I've bought it I've fitted the correct 67 only distributor (it had a 009 on from Remtec), replaced an ovalled front drum, both rear axle seals and boots, full service, brakes and wheel bearings adjusted, new fuel lines throughout, new reserve fuel tap (being a Sparkafer it doesn't have a fuel guage), and fitted a proper fuel filter bracket to the gearbox, and fitted a new drivers window regulator as the one on there was clicking, also added a roof rack which could go with the car for the right deal. It's also had a new 6v battery.

Underneath is immaculate, inner arches, floor pans, etc, like new. Has a few minor imperfections here and there, it was repainted 15yrs ago, but you will genuinely struggle to find a genuine UK car as good as this underneath that hasn't been welded. All the running gear is new too (brakes, bearings, etc).

I'd take £16 for it or swap for a similar condition 58/59/60 Semaphore big window bug, or a Porsche 996 (totally different things I know!), might also consider a Mustang.

This is not your usual repro panel restored bug, I've never seen one this good and original underneath.

Tonnes more pictures can be supplied if required, viewing is welcomed.
