Commentaires du vendeur sur 1967' Volkswagen Camper T2 Splitscreen

For sale a 1967 German built, factory Right hand drive, 13 window deluxe VW T2 Splitscreen Kombi.

The bus was recently featured on the front cover of the August 2017 edition of Volksworld magazine. Which included A seven page feature and A centre fold poster of the bus.

Prior to the Splitty having a full no experience spared nut and bolt restoration.
The bus spent its life in the dry climate of southern Thailand.
We shipped to the UK back in 2008 and due to The bus being in excellent driving and rust free condition It was the perfect candidate to build a show winning splitty.

With the bus is a full history of surporting documentation.
This includes A birth certificate from Volkswagen, the original vin plate, And folders of receipts and invoices for every new part and restoration invoice.
There is also a comprehensive photos album detailing every step of the restoration process.

Although The bus registration is 'E' for 1967. It is effectively a brand new Volkswagen T2 Splitscreen.
With the addition of the modern components. The show quality paint job and interior, the bus is in better condition now than when it left the VW factory in Hannover over 50 years ago.

The restoration of the bus was carried out by the exceptional craftsmen at Pitt Lane classic car restoration in Winchester UK. They completed the full body and show quality paint restoration on the bus, finishing it off in a original VW T2 colour of L31 Dove Blue.
The legendary Volkswagen interior specialist, Bernard Newbury’s services were employed for a full interior restoration on the bus, This Culmination has resulted in this bus being one of the finest examples in the UK.

Bernard fitted out the interior back to the way it was intended as a Kombi micro bus. The quality of the interior is exceptional, the headliner is perfect, the best that I have seen in a T2, the re-apolstered seats are immaculately done.
The door cards and side panels are in a traditional deluxe style, with chrome strips, also fully re-manufactured and finished To perfection. Even the traditional style carpets are original VW factory spec material and perfectly fitted.
Beneath this factory style interior the bus has been fully dynomat lined for sound proofing and insulated for warmth.
With the Kombi configuration there is a single drivers seat with bench seat in the front and In the back are two rows of bench seats, that can accommodate up to 8 people.

There is the option to easily remove both of the rear bench seats. This would leave you with a large free space in the back of the bus that could be re-designed Into your own unique camper van interior.
For example fitting a ‘rock and roll’ bed and camping stove unit.
You could also turn the middle bench seat around to face backwards and add a fold down table between the two rear seats, or add a wrap around sofa style rear seat.

The first outing for the freshly restored splitty was to the Volksworld show at the end of March 2017.
The bus received a huge amount attention and positive feed back from the Volkswagen enthusiasts and visitors to to show.
This included the judging panel who awarded it one of there coveted Volksworld top 20 best of show prizes.
The bus then went on to receive a prize for best of show at the National Motor museum’s Volkswagen T-fest in August.

The bus is currently lowered about 4” from the standard ride height.
A great option, with a easy adjustment, is the ability to increase the suspension ride height back up near to stock.
Bolt on some original 5x205 VW painted steel wheels with chrome hub caps and the bus will be a lovely, factory standard looking splitty.

- I also have some wheels which are a bit special. A set of 4 fully refurbished, original 1967 Porsche 911S 4.5’ Fuchs cast magnetism alloys. These give the bus that bit of extra show appeal.
If you are interested in these wheels then I am happy to negotiate them into the price of the bus.

- For a bit more BHP in the engine department.
I can sell you the bus with a Wolfsburg performance 2007cc, 160BHP engine fitted.
This engine revs to over 6000 rpm. With this incredible performance the old bus will be capable of humiliating most modern cars on the road.
This engine offers a huge amount of torque in comparison to a stock engine which will allow you to cruse in modern traffic without the need to be constantly changing up and down gears or to be drooping down to 2nd or 1st to get up hills.
It will also be a more reliabe engine than the standard engine due to the outstanding build quality from Ian Clarke the engine builder.
Again if you are interested in this engine, we can negotiate it into the price.
I can arrange fully insured delivery of the vehicle in a coverd car transporter to anywhere in the UK or Europe.

I will also consider a part Part Exchange for the bus.

Please email me If you have any questions, would like to see full HD photos of the bus or a copy of the Volksworld magazine feature.
