Commentaires du vendeur sur 1926' Scott
1926 SCOTT FLYING SQUIRREL 500 cc Reg. no. YR 3607 Frame no. Unknown Engine no. FY9806M Scott Motorcycles were started by A.A.Scott, a 2-stroke pioneer in the early 1900s. They went on to have success on the track winning the 1912 and 1913 TT. The bike in the sale is a 500 cc twin, 2-stroke, water cooled example. There was also a 600 cc in production at the time. These motors were virtually unchanged right through to the 1950s. In the late 1920s they had produced a 300 cc and a 350 cc single, but these failed to do well. They also produced a 996 cc, 3-cylinder, 2-stroke, but there was very few built. The bike in the sale has been partly restored but needs the engine rebuilt. We understand that it was found on a farm in Seend Cleeve, Wiltshire in 1970 and the restoration has been ongoing ever since. There are boxes of engine components with the bike and it has an original buff logbook and V5c.
This and 60 other classic cars and motorcycles will be sold at auction, on March 4th at Allington, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN14 6LJ All enquiries to 01249 444544
