Knockhill Racing Circuit
On 18 May 1975, Knockhill Racing Circuit roared into life with its first-ever car race. Now, half a century later, this legendary track is gearing up to celebrate its golden anniversary in style.

Taking place over the weekend of 17–18 May 2025, the 50 Years of Car Racing at Knockhill event promises to be an unmissable tribute to Scottish motorsport history.

This isn’t just any race weekend. It’s a nostalgic journey through five decades of action, featuring past champions, legendary cars, thrilling racing, and a look back at some of Knockhill’s greatest moments. For fans of classic racing, this is a must-attend event – and we’re giving you the chance to win a weekend trip including tickets to both days plus overnight accommodation too!

What to Expect at the Knockhill 50th Anniversary Event
The celebration kicks off on Saturday, 17 May, with a packed race schedule featuring championships from Knockhill Motor Sports Club (KMSC) and the Scottish Motor Racing Club (SMRC). Expect to see everything from Scottish Classics and Legends to Minis, ModSports, Fiesta STs, C1s, and Super Lap Scotland (SLS) in action. A guest round of pickup trucks will also be taking place, adding to the excitement.

Sunday, 18 May, is all about history. The highlight will be a recreation of Knockhill’s original 1975 opening ceremony, complete with a Formula 5000 car – just like the one driven by Chris Amon on that historic day. A Footwork F1 car demonstration will provide high-speed thrills, while legendary Scottish drivers will return to the track with their original competition cars.

Visitors can also enjoy track parades, live interviews, autograph sessions, and a motorsport photography exhibition, capturing Knockhill’s most memorable racing moments. And of course, there’ll be more racing action, with additional KMSC and SMRC championship rounds, plus a special guest race featuring 1990s Pick Up Trucks.

If you want to see classic cars racing just as they did back in the day, this is an event you won’t want to miss!
