This Stunning Shelby GT500 Replica Costs A Staggering $219,000
But you get 600 horsepower and a modernized interior.

A multitude of heavily customized Mustangs were showcased at this week's SEMA show, but this stunning replica of the 1967 Shelby GT500 by Orlando-based Revology is easily one of the stand outs. Officially licensed by Shelby, Revology has faithfully reproduced the vintage GT500's steel body and added an assortment of modern technology to justify its $219,000 price tag. The Revology Shelby GT500 is powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 tuned by Roush.

Based on the Mustang GT's DOHC Ti-VCT Coyote, the all-aluminium unit produces 600 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque.
Built on Revology's in-house front engine, rear-wheel drive M58 platform, several changes had to be made to handle all that extra grunt. "We revised the driveline, cooling, electrical, suspension, and even the body of the car to handle the increased output," Revology president and founder Tom Scarpello explained. "The 5.0 RSC is a great engine; reliable, sophisticated and bulletproof, with a two-year manufacturer's warranty. We knew this was the engine we wanted for the GT500, so we designed the car around it," he added.

Inside, the cabin is loaded with modern creature comforts you wouldn't get in the original GT500. As standard, you get air conditioning, power windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, remote trunk release, Bluetooth, leather seats and more. The GT500 replica also features power four-wheel disc brakes with 330 mm slotted and ventilated rotors, as well as six-piston calipers in front and four-piston calipers in the rear. At $219,000, it isn't exactly cheap, but owning a car that has the gorgeous looks of the GT500 but doesn't have the drawbacks of the old original sounds appealing. Collectors will argue you can get an original GT500 for far less money, but Revology's replica is designed to be driven.
