Commentaires du vendeur sur 1956' Bedford SB
1955 Bedford SB Fire Engine This appliance is one of only 27 chassis’s built to a design by the Brigade Engineer of Birmingham Fire & Ambulance Service from 1951 to 1956. The Chassis used was a coach chassis shortened to give only 12ft 6ins wheelbase. Most of the chassis’ had bodywork built to carry 50ft wheeled escape, but this appliance was built as a ‘Major Pump’ by Wilsden of Solihull, making it very unusual. Most of these appliances were supplied to the Birmingham Fire and Ambulance Service, but this appliance was supplied new to the Works Fire Brigade at ‘Fort Dunlop’ in 1955. Where it served until 1972 This appliance is of considerable historic importance to the history of the British Fire Service, being built as a ‘Major Pump’ makes it unique. TOA 584 was extensively restored to its present condition from 1995. It is fully equipped and is in full working order and comes with period uniforms and breathing apparatus
