The 1978 release was all kinds of special for the Corvette, as this year witnessed the car's 25th anniversary. As a result, Chevrolet installed special badging on all Vettes while also launching a separate Anniversary Edition with a Charcoal Silver and Silver Metallic two-tone paint.

It didn't cost much, as Corvette buyers could get the anniversary package for only $399, so 15,283 customers ended up getting it.

Overall, Chevrolet sold 46,776 Corvettes in 1978, and buyers could choose from the standard L48 350 with 175 horsepower or the optional L82 with 220 horsepower and a four-barrel carburetor.

The L82 wasn't cheap, as it cost $525 over the base price of the Corvette, and the numbers show that over 12,700 customers ordered it. This engine accounted for approximately 27% of the entire Corvette production this year.

The Corvette in these photos is as mysterious as possible from an engine perspective, as it spent the last decades sitting in the same place. eBay seller pxq2q_5 claims they are "unaware of the condition of the engine," so whoever buys the car will have to open the hood and inspect what happens there. However, I wouldn't be surprised to find a seized engine, as this Corvette hasn't moved at all lately.

The owner didn't share many specifics, but inspecting the car personally might be a challenge. The Corvette is a Canadian specimen, and considering it's sitting on a trailer, it's safe to assume it's not in its best shape. I wish we knew more about the engine, as the car otherwise doesn't look as bad as you'd expect a vehicle neglected for 20 years to look.

We also don't get any look at the interior, so make sure you contact the seller to ask all the questions before making an offer. I would recommend that you try to obtain more information about the car, as the seller has no feedback on eBay, and the Corvette landed online with only four photos and very limited information.

Despite the vague specifics, the car already caught the attention of many Corvette fans, with 103 people already adding it to their watchlists. Some might already be involved in talks over a potential purchase.

The owner wants approximately $6,300 for this Corvette, but they also enabled the Make Offer option on eBay. It's unclear where it's located, and this is another reason why you should request more information about the car. If you live in Canada, arranging an in-person inspection is probably a good idea before you submit an offer.

The owner says they will accept the best offer when the listing expires, so if you're interested in the car and want to take it home, contact them for your chance.
