David Beckham's Rare Aston Martin V8 Volante Is A Masterpiece
There are only 78 examples like this in the world, and this one's for sale.

David Beckham has impeccable taste in cars. The retired soccer star's car history includes everything from luxury cars such as the Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead, to exotic sports cars and supercars like the Ferrari 360 Spider, Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet, and, more recently, a McLaren 720S. In 2003, Beckham acquired a stunning 1988 Aston Martin AMV8 Volante, one of only 78 ever made with similar specifications. And now this celebrity-owned classic sports car is looking for an owner.

Beckham was regularly seen parading his Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante around the streets of London, which often caught the attention of the paparazzi.

He was clearly very fond of his pride and joy because he even shipped the car to Madrid when he played for the Real Madrid soccer club. The Beckham's owned the Volante for 15 years before selling it in 2018.

Listed for sale by Auto Trader, the soccer star's Aston Martin AMV8 Volante is finished in metallic red, has a cream interior, and is said to be in pristine condition, with 38,100 miles on the clock. It was also recently showcased at the London Classic Car Show in February 2020 before lockdown. Under the hood is a 423-hp V8 that propelled the AMV8 Volante from 0-62 mph in just 5.2 seconds and onto a top speed of 168 mph. It also features the desirable X Pack engine, which added more power and a louder exhaust.

As for the price, David Beckham's Aston Martin AMV8 Volante is listed for sale for £445,000 ($548,808). That isn't cheap, but the car's condition, rarity, and celebrity owner make it very desirable for a collector who has over $500,000 to spare.

"We know David Beckham is a bit of a [gearhead], owning cars ranging from Bentley's and Rolls-Royce to, of course, Aston Martins. This AMV8 Volante is a gorgeous classic, so I'm not surprised he held on to it for so long," said Auto Trader's, Rory Reid. "It's cool to know someone in the public can now buy this car - well as long as you've got half a million spare of course - just by heading to the Auto Trader website."
