Morgan Bids Farewell to Plus Six With New Pinnacle Limited Edition
The Plus Six is nearing the end of its life. The retro-styled Roadster with BMW firepower will leave the assembly line for good early next year, and since the occasion couldn't have gone by unmarked, Morgan is celebrating it with a new special limited edition.
Christened the Morgan Plus Six Pinnacle Edition, the new model boasts some upgrades inside and out over the rest of the family. The carmaker said special customer orders inspired the extras, some of which are so exquisite that they could make modern-day Rolls-Royce sigh.
It comes standard with a Sport Black paint finish, yet the rest of the hues, including the more special ones and the matte colors, are no-cost options. Morgan will charge you an extra €1,835 (equal to $2,377) for the two-tone designs and another €1,245 ($1,613) if you want yours with a paint protection film. The car rides on 19-inch alloys with a mineral silver look, sports black front brake calipers, and a flip-up fuel filler cap with a polished look, Le Mans-style.
Inside, the 2024 Morgan Plus Six Pinnacle Edition can be specified with Explore (black) or Riviera (blue) leather upholstery at no extra cost, though the car features Fawn (brown) leather as standard. Pinnacle embroidery is on deck, alongside more special seats, bespoke stitching, teak wood trim, natural sheepskin carpeting, and an aluminum Pinnacle logo bedecking the center console, a nod to Japanese marquetry, as the British car manufacturer explained.

Options include heated seats, a cup holder, a premium audio system, a lockable storage compartment, a tunnel pocket on the passenger side, various decal kits, and an active sports exhaust system with silver or black tailpipes, among others. The vehicle features standard air conditioning, remote central locking, power steering, a simpler audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, puddle lights, footwell lighting, sun visors, etc.

Breathing air from behind the retro grille is a BMW-sourced engine. The six-cylinder 3.0L TwinPower Turbo motor develops 335 horsepower (340 ps/250 kW) and 369 pound-foot (500 Nm) of torque. It works in concert with an eight-speed automatic transmission, enabling 0-62 mph (100 kph) in 4.2 seconds. The 2024 Morgan Plus Six Pinnacle Edition has a dry weight of 2,524 pounds (1,145 kg) and taps out at 166 mph (267 kph). The combined fuel economy is rated at 30.8 US mpg (7.7 l/100 km/37 UK mpg), and the car emits 175 g/km of CO2.

Morgan will build only 30 copies of the Plus Six swansong, which starts from £96,995 (equaling $124,647) in the United Kingdom, including tax. As for the model's successor, it's said to feature modern styling and is expected to come out sometime next year (2025). The Plus Six is "the last high-powered Morgan with the classic wing silhouette."
